Homeless  Youth

Homeless LGBT youth are a big problem in this country. In the following you will find graphs, charts and information from the amount of LGBT youth are homeless. There is also information on needs and reasons for them leaving/being kick out of their homes. Also there are some information on states that have helped and hurt these youth with their policies they have created.

The above graph from National Runaway Safeline shows the disproportionate amount of homeless youth that are apart of the LGBTQ community.

The Image above from Abod Shelters and the one to the right is from True Colors Fund. They illustrate many reasons LGBTQ youth leave home and often become homeless.

In the map on the left published by, Humans Rights Watch, shows what states restrict teachers from talking about LGBT issues at school. Note that the state with Utah being one of them.

In the map to the right published by, Humans Rights Watch, it shows the states that have laws against bullying of students on the bases of sexual orientation and gender identity. Note that Utah is not one of them.
